Is Zoning My Home Cost-Effective?
Absolutely! Here’s how to maximise heating efficiency with the Wunda Home system:
Understanding Efficiency
Each home has unique characteristics such as window placement, insulation quality, heating source, and occupancy patterns. WundaHome is designed to accommodate these variations, providing tools to optimize heating efficiency for your specific situation.
Traditional Central Heating vs. Wunda Home
Traditional central heating systems typically heat radiators to 70-90°C, which can be highly inefficient, especially when heating the entire house even if only one room needs warmth. In contrast, Wunda Home allows for precise control of each room's temperature, minimising waste and maximising efficiency.
Key Efficiency Tips
1. Keep Your Doors Closed
Heat naturally migrates to cooler areas. To retain warmth in a specific room, keep the doors closed. If you need to heat the entire home, use the Quick Switch feature to activate heating in all rooms simultaneously while keeping doors closed. This method is more efficient than heating one room with all doors open, as it reduces heat loss to colder areas.
2. Use Pre-Defined Temperatures
Wunda Home provides three predefined temperature settings (you can set these yourself for each room in the rooms setting page) for quick and efficient adjustments:
- Blue - Reduced: 17°C
- Green - Eco: 19°C
- Red - Comfort: 21°C
These presets can be easily accessed from the main ‘rooms’ menu and integrated into your daily heating schedule, allowing for seamless temperature management throughout the day. Setting a reduced temperature in rooms not occupied and a higher eco or comfort temperature in rooms that are being used.
By following these guidelines and using Wunda Home's advanced features, you can achieve efficient and cost-effective heating tailored to you and your home’s specific needs.
